The Old Made New Again
|
Talk about "This Old House." This home north of Boston was built in 1768 as a modest cottage. Over the years, additions, rehabs, and modernizations had transformed it into a sprawling Colonial. Another round of improvements was in order to upgrade the kitchen and amenities. The problem: Too many cooks had spoiled the broth. The various changes over the years had created a design hodgepodge with no uniformity and poor flow. Simply redoing the kitchen would not be enough. A key goal was to ensure that the final design would have all the modern conveniences, from HDTV to a high-end kitchen while making sure the final result did not clash with the property's 18th Century origins. |
